August 25, 2018 - New York City - Jersey Shore (South)

Heading south down the Hudson River corridor.  I've done it six or so times before; it's always good.

Passing by a fast mover down below.

Yankee Stadium is just visible center left.  Rikers Island in the East River is visible in the distance center.  That's not a place you want to be at.

Central Park.  That tall building on the right.  Is it new?  It's taller than the Empire State building and I don't think I've seen it before.

Look at all the new construction to the right of the Empire State building.  Good to see.

A close-up of the USS Intrepid.  What's the deal with that big structure on the flight deck?

Looking back at those new skyscrapers under construction.

Continuing south to Lower Manhattan.

A tall building on my right, the New Jersey side.  Is it new?  Another one I haven't noticed before.

A good look at Battery Park, lower Manhattan.

Governor's Island.  "An excellent day out to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a breath of fresh air. Lovely to bike or walk around."

Coney Island Beach

A cruise boat headed out to some exotic destination.  Bermuda?

Flying south down the Jersey Shore.

The beaches were packed on this perfect weather day.

As I had seen all day, the boaters were out in force as well.

Lot of partying going on down there.

The pickup trucks were lined side to side down the beach.    Notice the banner tower at center left coming the opposite way.

The boaters have discovered a sandbar just north of Atlantic City.

Zooming past AC.

The weather is simply to good to be inside at the slots.

Once past AC, I turned west for home.  I cruised low over a marsh that was very beautiful in the late afternoon.

Looking north at New Jersey's Pine Barrens forest.

Some clouds make their appearance as I'm about to cross the Delaware Bay.

A neat private grass airstrip I have not seen before.

Good day.  I flew places I have been meaning to see for a long time.  Git er done!
